Interview Analysis

Turning Raw Conversations into Actionable Strategy

How our Interview Analysis unlocks insights, patterns, and clear next-steps - automatically.

Why we built it

Talking to customers is gold, but only if you can mine the nuggets hidden in hours of Zoom recordings and wall-sized transcripts. Our Interview Analysis feature reads every word for you, distills what matters, and ties the findings back to the very hypotheses on your Business Model Canvas. That means less time coding quotes in spreadsheets and more time iterating your idea with evidence.

What the AI does for you

Why it matters

1 · Transcription Generation Transcribes the interview line-by-line, tags speakers, and captures context (who, what, why). Ensures every quote is evaluated inside the right conversation frame.
2 · Executive Summary Produces a 250-500-word narrative that highlights top needs, pains, surprises, and opportunities. Gives you the “CEO-level” digest you can forward to teammates or mentors.
3 · Key Insights Splits findings into Explicit (what customers said outright) and Implicit (what they hinted or felt). Each insight is backed by verbatim citations. Surfaces both spoken frustrations and the unspoken motivations that drive behaviour.
4 · Thematic Analysis Re-reads everything with a “zoom-out” lens looking for contradictions, value hierarchies, emotional arcs, and mental models across themes. Reveals higher-order signals you might miss in a single pass.
5 · Canvas Assessment Compares every insight and supporting quote against your current Canvas hypotheses, marking them as Supporting, Unsupporting, or with a four level importance score. Shows which Canvas hypotheses have validating evidence, which need a rewrite, and where gaps remain.

The deliverables you’ll see in the app

  1. Executive Summary

A share-ready overview, perfect for stand-ups or investor updates.

  2. Key Insights:
    • Explicit and Implicit Insight Sets: Explicit insights are what customers directly state about their needs or behaviors, while implicit insights are the underlying motivations or problems you infer from what they say. Both are essential for building solutions that truly resonate.
    • Tags: Quick categorization for optional added organization.
    • Priority ratings: Mark the importance so you take action on the most sought-after solutions.
    • Click-through quotes: jump straight to the transcript timestamp or play the recording.

  1. Thematic Analysis

Thematic analysis helps teams surface patterns across interviews like community, collaboration, or adaptability and turn them into strategic insights. These themes validate or challenge key hypotheses and guide positioning, priorities, and next steps.

How to use the results

If you want to…

Prioritise roadmap features Sort the table in the Insights feature by priority → send top-ranked pains to your product backlog.
Craft marketing copy Copy the verbatim customer language from explicit insights - customers already wrote half your headline.
Convince stakeholders Export your Interview Data and copy your Analyses from key interviews to share with stakeholders.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Do I need to tag speakers or edit the transcript first?

A: No. We ingest Zoom and other media sources, auto-detect speakers (you can edit their labels as needed), punctuate, and structure everything for you.

Q: What if my interview is casual and messy?

A: The engine is built for real-world conversations, false starts, tangents, and all.

Q: Can I edit the AI’s analysis, insights or canvas links?

A: Yes and no. Meta Analyses are not editable, but individual insights and their hypothesis links are.

Q: Is my data secure?

A: Yes. Transcripts and analyses stay inside your Innovation Within workspace, encrypted at rest and in transit. Only teammates you invite can access them.

Pro tips for sharper insights

  1. Interview for extremes. Talk to both power-users and total non-users; contrast fuels great meta insights.
  2. Update your Canvas first. Clear, well-phrased hypotheses make validation/refutation crystal‐clear.
  3. Use AI Generated Interview Templates: Ask questions that directly relate to your idea with the goal of validating your hypotheses.
  4. Use the Priority ratings. A must-have (Critical) can outweigh ten nice-to-haves (Low).
